Inspiration Behind the Gem Collection

As the saying goes " Shine bright like a diamond"...

I've always been attracted to the brilliant sparkle and depth of color of diamonds and gemstones. Over the years, I've found that the most interesting worlds are found in the seemingly mundane parts of nature such as insects, and the various flora and fauna that diversifies the Earth. Gemstones are no different.

Growing up as a very shy and quiet child in Alabama, I often found myself longing for the confidence to let myself shine while unable to shake the feeling of being misunderstood. I enjoyed spending my time outside collecting rocks, butterflies, beetles, and reading books as an escape. While creating this collection, I reflected on that sense of longing as a child and found that sparkling gemstones to be the perfect representation of that search for confidence and self-love.

Similarly to a butterflies metamorphosis, a diamond, for example, starts out as a humble and unappealing rock. Through the process of shaping and refining, it emerges as the most dazzling stone in the world. It is beloved so much that we gift it to those we love.

I think that the polished and cut stone is the aspiration and the outcome of just how brilliant we can all be. The beauty was always there, it just had to be discovered and polished a bit.

At least that's the best way I can describe the warm, fuzzy feeling I get when I admire them!
